Hello and Welcome to 12 Turtles!

I’m Erin, a mom of 3 boys and a girl, and fiancé of an amazing man!

In 2013, I graduated with Associate’s Degree in Pharmacy Technology and became nationally board certified as a pharmacy technician. In late 2016, I was diagnosed with severe arthritis in both of my feet and was told I could no longer spend long hours on my feet (there went my 10-hour work shifts at the hospital).

After trying to find a job I was trained in and able to do without being on my feet, I found a job that allowed me a full-time position to work from home (that is what I currently do along with my blog). I love my current job but I would also like something a little more creative in my life… so a blog was born.

The name 12 Turtles comes from a couple of different things:

  1. Between my 4 children, Dave’s 2 children and  their spouses, and the 4 grandchildren we have 12 kids.
  2. Turtles have become a permanent fixture in my home since the first time Dave and I went to the beach and saw a large sea turtle laying eggs.
  3. The turtle symbolizes a great deal of things in many cultures including persistence, determination, motherhood, and femininity. I wanted to capture the essence of what the turtle means in many cultures in my blog.

What better symbol to identify with then a turtle? It is perfect for the purpose of this blog.

Which brings me to the purpose:

My blog is dedicated to the moms out there that have lost themselves and forgotten who they are. The moms whose lives are dedicated to their homes, family, and work. The moms who sacrifice sleep, forget to eat, and devote day in and day out to making sure her kids are taken care of. This blog is dedicated to every mother out there just like me.

I will be sharing my personal life lessons with you. I will help you find ways to remember who you are. And I promise to be here for you while you regain yourself if the sea of life.

If for any reason you need to contact me, for support, or if you have suggestions or ideas for the blog, please feel free to  contact me.
